28/05/2008 - Ibrahim recovers from onstage fainting fit.
Ibrahim has recovered from an on-stage fainting fit which happened at the end of last Sundays concert in Salisbury, England. A few seconds into Imidiwan Winakalin, the penultimate song of the set, Ibrahim fell to the floor and was carried backstage. An ambulance was called but by the time it arrived Ibrahim was sitting up and breathing normally. Ibrahim had been complaining of headaches all day but nevertheless insisted on performing for the 800 strong crowd. The medics who attended to him attributed his condition to extreme fatigue and recommended that he rest as much as possible.

08/05/2008 - Tinariwen rock the VIP, St Nazaire
Tinariwen gave a blazing performance of their new sound and vision show at the VIP in the French industrial port of St Nazaire on April 26th. The concert came at the end of a week long residency at the VIP, a fabulous 500 capacity venue built into the gargantuan old blockhouses built by the Germans to shield their U-Boats from the bombs of the RAF during the second world war. Tinariwens new light show was created by video artists Jerome Lulu Lubin and Thierry Titi Charles, based on visuals captured in the southern saharan by Lojo vocalist Nadia Nid El Mourid and Canadian filmmaker Jason Breckenridge. This was the second time that the VIP have extended their warm welcome to Tinariwen for a residency and as Abdallah said from the stage, St Nazaire is now part of the Tinariwen story.

08/05/2008 - Tinariwen feature on new Later With Joolz Holland DVD, Due May 19th
Tinariwen join the likes of Blur, Amy Winehouse, Bjork, Manu Chao, The Who and 42 other artists on a bumper DVD of the best performances from 15 years of the LATER WITH JOOLZ show on BBC 2. The entire three hours worth of shamelessly eclectic musical entertainment will be released by the Beeb on May 19th.

14/02/2008 - EUROPEAN DATES FOR SUMMER 08 ANNOUNCED
Tinariwen will be embarking on a massive summer odyssey around Europe, starting in May 2008. They will be visiting France, the UK, Belgium, Norway, Hungary, Germany and Ireland and playing at some prestigious events such as the Electric Picnic in Ireland and Musiques Metisses in France.
